Kathmandu,: Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli has said that the reactionaries are terrified because the patriotic, progressive and democratic forces have united.
Addressing the eighth meeting of the UML Central Committee, which started today in Chyasal, PM and party Chair Oli commented that the reactionaries have engaged in false propaganda against the UML. Reactionary forces have hatched conspiracies against UML; therefore, such conspiracies should be foiled.
“We should not remain silent on the accusations of our opponents. It is a weak idea that you should keep quiet.
The allegations of the opponents should be refuted on the basis of facts. All our organizations should be enthusiastic and reach people and homes. Equal importance should be given to ideological work,” the UML chairperson Oli said.
Stating that factions and anarchy must be ended within the party, he said creating factions within the party in the name of democracy will not strengthen the party. “Not by being misled, but by sticking to one policy, we focus on the interests of the party and the country.”
Requesting not to present internal matters of the party for public consumption, chair Oli remarked that those who celebrated the party by dividing it are regretting.
In the political report presented by Chair Oli in the meeting, he has outlined the new political roadmap and the need, justification and opportunity of forming alliance between UML and Nepali Congress; made an assessment of six months after the formation of current alliance; changing world environment and foreign policy of the country; reviewed local level by-elections and building of decisive national power.
After the formation of the new government, the message of political stability has been conveyed, common policy commitments and resolutions have been issued, the necessary structures have been created to facilitate government operations, the economy has improved, laws on transitional justice have been passed, national interests have been protected and balanced external relations have been maintained, the injustice of the cooperative sector has been ended and justice has been given to savers.
And he has asserted that those involved in irregularities have been punished and that development and construction has accelerated.
Similarly, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel informed the meeting about the political report as well as brief information about the organizational work, information about the decisions of the Central Secretariat and Politburo meeting after the meeting of the National Convention Representative Council held last May, the remarks of the chairpersons of the Central Commission and current affairs.
The meeting formed a ‘Discussions Note Committee’ under the coordination of Politburo member Surya Bahadur Thapa, comprising members Niraj Acharya and Bishnu Rizal and a ‘Contemporary Proposal Committee’ under the coordination of Central Publicity Department chief Rajendra Gautam, comprising members Raghuji Panta and Khagaraj Adhikari.
