Paanchthar : A seven-point agreement was sealed between the locals of the Yangnam – 1 and Paanchthar Power Company which is constructing the Hewa ‘A’ Hydro Power Project at Hewa river of the district.

A discussion held on Sunday under the arbitration of the Paanchthar Chamber of Commerce and Industry concluded with the decision to seal seven-point agreement. The locals will now provide individual and institutional support for sale and distribution of the power generated by the company.

The company in turn will be required to set up six poles – each of which will be 11 metres in length from Manetaar to Khung river – and Rs 20,000 in addition. The company will also provide 800 metre long polythene pipeline for Pachise drinking water and 500 metre plastic pipe for Chilingden drinking water.

The meeting was attended by the disgruntled locals along with political party representatives and the other concerned stakeholders, Paanchthar Chamber’s President Mitra Prasad Kafle said. RSS
